Multiple results, one search engine
Yesterday I posted some information and a few links concerning vertical search engines.
While it’s not a vertical search engine, I ran across this site a few weeks ago and I think it’s a pretty interesting take on how people may use search engines in the future…not only in their initial search process, but also as they compare and contrast vendors and products throughout the buying process.
searchCrystal allows you to search and compare information from various search engines on one screen. They call themselves a “search visualization” tool – and I guess that’s an accurate description. What I found interesting was not only the ability to compare the results from several different search engines on one screen, but you can easily select different tabs and compare results for information from the web, news, blogs, etc.
By showing the results from multiple search engines and having the ability to search for information in different categories, the site provides some interesting research capabilities and could be used as a competitive intelligence tool. They even have some widgets and analytics tools that may add value to not only your own research, but to your website as well.
You can check them out here.
